Going to the ballgame is not a cheap date. Check the costs courtesy of Bookies.com and a T/O/H to Bill Shaikin in his article in The Los Angeles Times.
The Times spoke to the owners’ spokesman, a.k.a. baseball commissioner Rob Manfred, who had the audacity to say, “You can’t have it all ways, right?” Manfred said. “The Dodgers have made a massive financial commitment in terms of players, and they have to run a business that supports that massive financial commitment.”
The chutzpah of Manfred is evident in this chart prepared by the Nielsen organization. T/O/H here to J.P. Hornstra.
