WE’VE PLAYED 130 DAYS THIS SEASON.

There are just eight weeks left to the regular season.

Here’s where we stand.

THE NL CENTRAL IS THE TOP DIVISION IN BASEBALL

Led by the Brewers, Cubs, and Reds, this is one tough division.

THE NL CENTRAL

The NL Central could finish with four teams over .500. The Brewers have the best record in baseball. They lead the NL, hitting .257. They are fifth in the majors with 555 runs scored. The Cubs are tied with the Yankees at the top of the majors with 579 runs scored. Since July 1, Milwaukee leads the NL with 158 runs scored. The Brewers are fourth in the majors with a 3.66 ERA. However, Milwaukee’s remaining opponents (51 games) have a .510 winning pct. The Cubs’ remaining schedule (51 games) are teams with a .482 winning pct.

THE AL EAST

The AL East is the top division in the American League. But if you haven’t looked at the standings recently, boy, has it changed.

Here’s what it looked like on July 1.

The Blue Jays lead the majors with a .264 BA. The Red Sox bullpen leads the AL with a 2.98 ERA. Boston has won its last three series and seven of their last nine. Meanwhile, the Yankees have lost their last two series, six of their last seven, and seven of their last nine. The Blue Jays have won 25 of their last 40 games (.625). The Sox have the best record in the AL and second best in baseball since June 1 (34-19 .642).
