DAVID LETTERMAN WITH THE INTRO
It’s only 14 seconds long, so take a deep breath. Just watch it and move on.
SHOHEI OHTANI
If the season ended today, Shohei Ohtani would hold the record for the fewest RBI by someone who has hit 41+ homers. He has 77. It’s not a reflection of Shohei but of the fact that he leads off. Of his 77 RBI, he has driven himself in 41 times and no other Dodger more than seven times. He has hit 27 solo homers, 12 two-run homers, and two three-run homers. Is this anything?
THE RED SOX
The Red Sox visited San Diego this weekend and dropped two of three. They have been so hot of late, so this doesn’t seem like a huge deal. The Padres are a terrific team. However, Boston has now dropped three of their last four road series. They beat the Twins (56-61) in Minnesota, but they lost series to the Cubs and the Phillies. Granted, the three series losses were to NL teams, but they were also all most likely postseason contenders. Is this anything?
THE METS STARTING PITCHERS
Since June 8, the Mets have played 53 games and have a record of 22-31. David Peterson has made 10 starts, gone 3-3, and pitched at least six innings in eight of those starts. No other Mets starter has pitched six innings in those 53 games. During that stretch, the Mets have had a 4.80 ERA. Starters have had a 4.78 ERA. Relievers have had a 4.83 ERA. Is this anything?
MAX FRIED

FRANCISCO LINDOR
Francisco Lindor broke his right pinky toe on June 4, 2025, after being hit by a pitch during a game against the Dodgers. Through that game, Lindor was hitting .279, with an .843 OPS, and 14 homers. Since then, Francisco has hit .202, with an .613 OPS, and seven homers. Is this anything?
XANDER BOGAERTS
Xander Bogaerts changed something in mid-June. Through June 18, Bogaerts hit .227, with a .617 OPS, and three homers. Since June 19, Xander is hitting .337, with a .933 OPS, and seven homers. Is this anything?

JUAN SOTO
Through 118 Yankee games in 2024, Juan Soto hit 28 homers. Through 118 Mets games in 2025, Juan Soto has hit 28 homers. Through 118 Yankee games in 2024, Juan Soto was hitting .369 with runners in scoring position. Through 118 Mets games in 2025, Juan Soto is hitting .190 with runners in scoring position. Is this anything?
TARIK SKUBAL
Tarik Skubal is 11-3 with a 2.35 ERA, 0.86 WHIP, and a .198 BAA. Through August 1, Skubal was 10-3 with a 2.09 ERA, 0.84 WHIP, and a .194 BAA. This month, Skubal is 1-0 with a 5.40 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, and a .244 BAA. Is this anything?
LUIS ARRAEZ

CARLOS CORREA
One of the shockers of the season is that Carlos Correa was dealt by the Twins back to the Astros at the trade deadline. Here are the initial results.
