HERE’S WHAT I’M LOOKING AT…
I HAVE SCORED AS MANY RUNS AS THE YANKEES OVER THE LAST THREE GAMES
June 15: 0 runs, 11 strikeouts, five hits
June 16: 0 runs, 10 strikeouts, eight hits
June 17: 0 runs, 12 strikeouts, four hits
For the sixth time in their history, the Yankees have been blanked in three straight contests (2016 is the most recent). They have been held scoreless for 29 straight innings, the fourth longest of any team this season. The Reds were blanked for 35 straight in late March/early April.
In June, the Yankees are hitting .233 and have scored 58 runs in 15 games.
In seven games since June 11, the Yankees are hitting .175; only the Pirates (.168) have a lower BA. They have a .493 OPS. They have scored 11 runs, the fewest in the majors. They have struck out 63 times. Maybe it’s a New York thing, but their BA with men on base is .157. The only team with a lower BA is the Mets, hitting .148. They have played two extra-inning games and have hit .111 (1-9) in the 10th and 11th innings. All season, they have hit poorly in extras. In six overtime games, they are 2-26 (.077), with one RBI and one run scored. The Manfred Man has been left on base in eight of nine occasions.
In seven games since June 11, Aaron Judge is 3-24 (.125). HE HAS STRUCK OUT 15 TIMES. Judge has struck out at least three times in nine games this season, five times this month, and four times in the last five games.
The last time the Yankees scored a run, Canada still had a chance to win a Stanley Cup, and Rafael Devers was still driving home runs for the Red Sox.

The Red Sox record for most PA without an RBI to start a season is 74 by Charlie Armbruster, a catcher in 1907. Connor Wong has 71 PA so far this season. Charlie finished the season with no ribbies in 74 PA. He finished his career without an RBI in his last 55 games. He finished his life on October 7, 1964, a few days after suffering a gunshot wound “apparently inflicted when his .22-caliber rifle went off accidentally while he was cleaning it.”
On deck, COMEBACK WINS (AND LOSSES). In the hole: BIG PAPI ON RAFFY
